Newborn Photo sessions

Welcoming your newborn baby into your life is one of the most incredible joys.

When you see your baby for the first time, everything else comes in second place, even yourself. Your little baby becomes your entire world. You will spend hours admiring the cutest nose, tiny little fingers and toes and all the adorable wrinkles… soon, your little one won’t be so little anymore and all these details will be a sweet distant memory!

Booking a professional portrait session will enable you to record this period in your life with beautiful photographs, which will grow immensely in sentimental value and will become one of your most cherished possessions for the rest of your life.

What to expect

My signature style is to create portraits in a simplistic way.

By keeping things simple we together can create timeless quality images that will remain classy throughout the years.

I prefer to keep the focus on the beauty of your baby, rather than using too many props that tend to distract from the image and run the risk of quickly becoming old fashioned.

The safety of the baby is very important at all times so your little one will not be forced into awkward poses that can compromise the health and safety. Saying that I cannot guarantee some desirable poses. The session will be completely led by the baby's limitations and mood.

The Session

Due to the nature of newborn shoots I only shoot one newborn a day. All of my attention and effort is reserved for you on your session.

I don't limit session time, I work at your baby's pace, we can take as many breaks as we need to. Every baby is different so the duration of the session will depend on baby’s co-operation, his/her need for soothing, feeding and changing.

The session usually last anywhere from 2-4 hours, allowing plenty of time for comforting, feeding and plenty of cuddles.

Some photography session is designed with baby in mind but I welcome requests to add parents or siblings to part of the session, please contact me for a consultation.

When To Book Your Newborn Photoshoot?

If you are looking to achieve those curly, snuggly, sleepy newborn poses, is to hold your newborn session within those first two weeks of life. I always recommend aiming to hold our newborn session around days 8-10 after birth.

You CAN still have a newborn baby photoshoot if your baby is older than 14 days.

It's never too late for baby photos, however, depending on the age of your baby at the time of the photo session the outcome of the photos will vary. As babies get older they stay awake for longer periods and may push themselves out of the classic newborn poses where babies are curled up and sleeping

You can schedule your photoshoot at any time, but I recommend booking after your 20-week scan and as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Due to the fact that we do not know when the baby will arrive, I will book you in for your due date and move accordingly when your little one arrives.

Mobile Service

You don’t have to leave the house!

I will bring the studio to you in the comfort and safety of your home.

The first weeks after your little one arrives can be very challenging emotionally and physically and leaving the comfort of your house can be very overwhelming for some, especially with older siblings who can be very impatient and get bored in a studio environment. Leaving the house is not an easy task as well for someone who is just having their first baby and is still learning all about their “new life”.

I will supply everything needed for the newborn session including a posing bed, blankets, wraps, props and lights. Please let me know your colour preferences so I can plan and bring a few setups.

Please be aware the session time can be a little bit longer since being a mobile photographer I will need some extra time to set up all the equipment necessary before and after the session.

I’m based in Egham (Surrey) and offer mobile photography services in surrounding areas within 15 miles.

Pricing

SESSION DEPOSIT £49 "non-refundable"

The session deposit payment and signed portrait agreement are due at the time of booking to secure your date.

The full payment is required a day before your scheduled session and the deposit will be deducted from your final session payment.

Payments can be made by can be paid bank transfer or PayPal.

The session is all-inclusive, meaning you won't be blindsided by additional print prices and confusing packages.

The session covers the photographer's time and talent to capture and retouch the images, the session time, pre-consultation, an online gallery you can share with family and friends and a limited number of high-resolution jpeg digital files with printing rights. Also included gallery reveal appointment where you can see your final images and choose your favourites.

I only book one session a day, so I advise you to secure your date as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
